Asian culture is celebrated at the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach. Culture across the Pacific Rim is in the spotlight in this two day event that is fun, informative, and definitely educational for the entire family. Young people in particular will appreciate this rich manifestation of multi-Asian ways and customs. Dance demonstrations from Korea, China, Japan, and the Philippines will rouse the spirits with music and many-hued costumes, authentic garb and traditions of the homelands they represent. Japanese enthusiasts will appreciate the booming sounds of Taiko Drumming. These reverberating chambers are an ancient Japanese art and their performance during the Long Beach Autumn Festival recalls the bygone days of that island nation centuries ago. Korean Dance specialties will be performed by Jung Im Lee also by the Kim Eung Hwa Korean Dance Company. WeiZhong-Changing Faces/Tea Pot Balancing will present a demonstration of this unusual skill. The entire event will be hosted and emceed by Rodney Kageyama, the popular Japanese personality. Attendees will have quite a few opportunities for interesting take aways, souvineers and other artifacts of the two day event. Various vendors on-site, offering their wares include: Cherry Blossom Festival, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Fish Kites & Chinese Lanterns, Have Paper Will Travel With Michael & Yami, Kimekomi Dolls by Yukari Kai, East West Discovery Press, Stone Ishimaru WWII Internment Exhibit, and the Storytells – BookPAL Storytells (SAG Foundation).
