Families with timeshare rentals in Palm Springs can take their children to an eye-opening commemorative program in February at the Palm Springs Air Museum. The 70,000-sq. foot air museum began construction in 1993 and officially opened on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 1996.
The museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of World War II combat aircraft. In addition to its display of 26 aircraft, the institute uses other World War II artifacts, photographs and automobiles to better share its story with incoming visitors.
On the first weekend of February, the museum will commemorate Dr. Dean Hunter, author of “For Love of Life and Country: One Man’s Account of Heroism with Humor.” Hunter will be present at the museum to share his unique story of going from Eagle Scout to United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel while maintaining his sense of humor through the whole journey.
Almost every weekend, the Palm Springs Air Museum is busy with the commemoration of a war hero or a memorial of a major event in history. Children can learn more about the country in which they were raised and enjoy walking among the enormous, historical aircraft.
