Travelers who have booked vacation rentals in San Francisco, California, and seek a chance to appreciate one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful creations can visit the Pacific Orchid Exposition.
This event is dedicated entirely to the popular orchid flower, which can be white, as well as varying shades or purple and red. From February 23-26, visitors to the City by the Bay can celebrate this pretty plant at the Fort Mason Center.
When attendees enter the facility, their senses will be overcome by pleasant sights and smells, as more than 150,000 orchids will be on display at the exposition. The San Francisco Orchid Society, the event’s official organizer, will provide multiple opportunities for appreciators of the flower to learn about its history, as well as efforts to conserve the plant.
For travelers with a green thumb, this event provides a great opportunity to converse with growers from the Bay Area, as well as countries around the world.
The 2012 edition of this event is also a special occasion for the society, as it marks the 60th consecutive year of the Pacific Orchid Exposition.
Before travelers check out of their San Francisco condo rentals, they will want to take in the floral sights at a few other city attractions, including Golden Gate Park and Lombard Street.
